The Gold Scholarship is awarded to high-achieving incoming freshmen each fall semester.
New student awards - Fall 2014 -
- The Gold Scholarship is $6,000 per year for four consecutive years, for a total of $24,000.
Eligibility criteria & requirements - Fall 2014
You may be awarded this scholarship based on your undergraduate application materials. A separate scholarship application is not needed. Eligible students will be invited to attend Honors Convocation.
Completed WSU admissions application with all documents received in Admissions by December 8, 2013.
This award will be offered to the top admissions applicants, based on your GPA and ACT score at the time of admission. If you submit updated ACT/SAT scores you will be considered for upgraded scholarship opportunities as long as funds are available, provided you have met the application deadline.
Attendance at Honors Convocation is required to receive a Gold Scholarship
To retain your award
You must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours for fall and winter semesters, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.30.
Full-time enrollment is 12 credit hours or more.
You must maintain good standing within the Honors College.
If you earn a bachelor's degree in less than four years, your scholarship terminates at that time.
Wayne State University students can receive only one of the following merit scholarships - University, Presidential, Distinguished, Wade McCree, Gold, Green, Academic Achievement, Anthony Wayne or Detroit Urban Scholars scholarships. Students who have completed a bachelor's degree are not eligible for these scholarships.
